The essential equipment for a successful motorhome vacation

Preparing your motorhome: the essential step for a stress-free trip

Traveling by motorhome embodies freedom par excellence: setting off to discover each region, stopping as you please, and enjoying an autonomous lifestyle. But to fully savor the experience, good preparation is essential.

Start with the essentials: fluorescent vest, safety triangle, battery cables, food hose, electrical extension cord, stabilizing chocks and flashlight. These basics ensure your safety and autonomy during your stops.

Technological innovations are also transforming on-board comfort: foldable solar panels, portable power station, lithium battery, connected refrigerator, articulated TV mount with wireless charger, or even folding outdoor furniture that is resistant to the elements.

A GPS adapted to motorhomes avoids narrow roads and easily locates areas. For driving and maneuvering, reversing camera and 360° camera have become valuable allies.

To make sure your stays are worry-free, CAMPING-CAR PARK offers you over 500 parks accessible 24/7 with the Digital Pass. And thanks to the Pack'Privilège, you can book in advance and enjoy exclusive benefits and a dedicated customer service.

Mandatory equipment for your campervan in 2025

In 2025, regulations will require certain equipment to be on board campervans, vans and converted vans, in accordance with the recommendations of the French road authorities.

A fluorescent safety vest (CE) and a warning triangle are essential. The vest must be accessible from the driver's seat and worn in the event of an emergency stop. The triangle must be placed 30 metres behind the vehicle, except on motorways where hazard warning lights may be sufficient.

All signalling and lighting devices must be in good working order: headlights, dipped headlights, stop lights, indicators, rear fog lights and number plate lighting.

In winter, the Mountain Law requires the use of 3PMSF winter tyres or snow chains/socks between 1 November and 31 March in the areas concerned. Outside France, depending on your destination, other items such as a spare wheel, a fire extinguisher or a V16 warning light may be required.

Independence and innovation: equipment that changes life on board

To fully enjoy your getaways without relying on terminals or external facilities, independence is your best bet. Modern equipment, now more accessible, optimises your everyday life in a campervan.

The latest generation of solar panels are compact, efficient and can be used to charge lighting, electronic devices or the fridge. Lithium batteries offer a longer life and weight saving, while LPG provides an economical solution for cooking, heating or hot water production.

For comfort, we recommend automated blackout curtains, a smart air purifier, or even a portable solar-heated shower for nature stops. Outside, a connected folding barbecue, a smart LED projector, or a compact dishwasher transform your campervan into a cosy nest, even in the middle of nowhere.

This equipment, which is becoming increasingly popular with leisure vehicle professionals and specialist rental companies, is designed to meet the specific needs of independent travellers. It's no longer just about comfort, it's about real freedom on the road.
