For over 10 years, CAMPING-CAR PARK has been the leading European network of areas for motorhomes and has been helping travellers in motorhomes, vans and converted vans discover the most beautiful destinations in France and Europe. Our network of areas is unique and makes it easier to welcome leisure vehicles while promoting local tourism.
But like any innovative company, we face some misconceptions. Some of these circulate online or during discussions between motorhomers. They deserve to be clarified with transparency. Today, we're explaining what CAMPING-CAR PARK is not - and what we really are.
That's a common misconception. In reality, site maintenance is organised in partnership with local authorities. Each municipality remains the full owner of its land. Together, we share responsibilities:
This collaborative model ensures that the sites are functional, clean and open all year round. A valuable asset for travellers looking for security and comfort in any season.
CAMPING-CAR PARK doesn't buy the sites, it's actually the opposite of our model. We believe in a balanced public-private partnership.
Here's how it works:
This way of working allows small rural towns as well as tourist cities to benefit from quality facilities for motorhomes, without having to mobilise heavy investments themselves.
In addition, 70% of the profits generated by the site are returned to the municipality, thus reinforcing the economic interest of this partnership for local authorities.
Today, more than 500 local authorities trust us throughout France to promote their destination to motorhomers.
This point often comes up... and wrongly so! Area prices are decided in consultation with our local partners. On average, an overnight stay used to cost between €10 and €13, with services included: water, electricity (depending on the facilities), waste disposal, security, etc.
Since the recent increases due to inflation (especially on energy and water costs) and the introduction of the tourist tax, the average is now more like between €10 and €15. These adjustments aren't about increasing our profit margin, but about a shared economic necessity.
We're doing everything we can to keep costs down. Our goal remains the same: to offer a quality welcome that's accessible and transparent for all travellers.
The Privilege Pack is particularly advantageous for regular travellers: at €29, it pays for itself in just a few stays.
This is not the case. Our teams are all based in France, at our head office in Pornic, in the Loire-Atlantique region.
We have made the choice of local presence, with:
Our customers appreciate talking to available and friendly people who really understand the day-to-day life of motorhome owners.
That's right, and we fully own it.
Since the beginning, we've grown with the aim of making it easier for motorhomes to be welcomed across Europe. That's why we've opened several subsidiaries in Europe to support this vision.
This European dimension directly meets the expectations of our customers: to be able to travel further while enjoying a secure, harmonised and accessible welcome in just a few clicks thanks to the Digital Pass.
In the future, other European regions may have their own CAMPING-CAR PARK areas. A smooth, cross-border and hassle-free motorhome trip: that's the future we're building with you.
That's an unfair and outdated image!
Yes, some areas are functional and located near major roads—ideal for a quick stopover. But our network also includes:
At CAMPING-CAR PARK, we believe in independent, human-centered, and on-the-move tourism that respects local areas and simplifies travel.
Our goal isn't to standardize, but to showcase each region and destination in partnership with local authorities.
Whether you're on an impromptu weekend getaway or a European road trip, our digital solutions (booking, app, Digital Pass) and Privilege Pack let you travel more freely, more often, and with greater peace of mind.
