Responsible motorhome travel: discover the official CAMPING-CAR PARK charter

Motorhome travel embodies freedom, discovery and respect for the territories we cross. So that this adventure remains harmonious for all, CAMPING-CAR PARK has drawn up a charter for responsible motorhome travelers. It sets out 10 simple commitments to help you travel with peace of mind, respecting the environment, local residents and other travellers.

1. I optimize my travel

Before setting off, avoid filling your tank completely with water: this will reduce your fuel consumption. Choose secondary roads rather than freeways to discover charming villages and take full advantage of the landscape.

2. I park in dedicated spaces

Only use areas designated for campers and vans. This preserves the landscape and respects the peace and quiet of local residents. CAMPING-CAR PARK areas, developed in partnership with local authorities, guarantee comfort and respect for the environment. Remember to park in reverse and position the drive wheels on the grass near the driveway to avoid getting stuck.

3. I limit my energy consumption

Avoid using additional electrical appliances, such as radiators, to prevent over-consumption. Prefer gas- or battery-powered equipment. Be vigilant when using water: turn off the tap after use and report any malfunction. When using services, switch off the engine and recharge your PASS'ÉTAPES card in advance to avoid leaving the vehicle running unnecessarily.

4. I respect the environment

Drain grey and black water only in the areas provided, leaving the area clean. Never throw garbage out into the open, and use the sorting bins available on the sites. For smokers, a pocket ashtray is essential to ensure you don't leave any cigarette butts behind. Before leaving an area, make sure it's clean.

5. I respect other motorhomes

Use a single pitch and respect the boundaries so as not to disturb your neighbors. Preserve everyone's privacy by avoiding overcrowding. Keep the area quiet by limiting noise pollution. Keep your pets on a leash and pick up after them.

6. I consume responsibly

Encourage local purchases by visiting farmers' markets. This limits plastic packaging, allows you to consume seasonal produce and supports small businesses. Use jars or bulk bags for your shopping. Thanks to your PASS'ÉTAPES card, you'll benefit from discounts at partner retailers, reinforcing your positive impact on the areas you visit.

7. I give priority to moments of disconnection

Take advantage of your trip to stroll, breathe and relax. There are numerous trails for all levels. Use your bike to explore the surrounding area and, in the evening, opt for a good book or board game with the family rather than the TV.

8. I preserve the places I visit

Respect the rules posted in natural areas and cultural sites to preserve their balance. Tourism enhances our heritage and helps to safeguard it.

9. I avoid unnecessary travel

Before driving to a parking area, check the number of spaces available to avoid unnecessary journeys. Visit Pack'Privilège allows you to book your stay in advance or for the same day, ensuring that a space is available when you arrive.

10. I share my experience

Before choosing an area, many people consult the opinions of previous travelers. Take part in this community by evaluating your stay, helping other motorhome owners to make their choices.

CAMPING-CAR PARK: a network committed to sustainable tourism
