Puylaurens in a motorhome: a real coup de coeur

"Pastels, ramparts and softness in the Tarn".

On the road to my motorhome adventures, I stopped off at the Camping-Car Park de Puylaurensand what a pleasant surprise! Nestling in the heart of the Pays de Cocagne, this ancient medieval town immediately appealed to me with its quiet charm and rich heritage.

A little anecdote: in the 16th century, Puylaurens was a stronghold of the Pastel trade - a plant with yellow flowers, from which a highly valuable blue pigment was extracted. The famous "boules de cocagne" were made here! I found it fascinating.

"A historical stroll along Marianne's path

I took the time to follow the tourist trail "Au fil de Marianne", which retraces the history of the town through its emblematic sites. An original way to discover Puylaurens... and I learned that a museum dedicated to Marianne is due to open here on October 18. I can't wait to come back!

My favorites include the Notre-Dame-du-Lac church, with its two imposing bell towers, the rampart garden, the Protestant temple and the timber-framed houses. You can feel the richness of Occitan history here.

"Easy parking by the lake

For this stopover, I put my motorhome down at theCAMPING-CAR PARK in Puylaurens, right next to Lake Bagatelle. It's quiet, well laid out and all the shops are within walking distance. I was able to take advantage of all the services with my Access Card, and if you have the Pack'Privilègesit's even better: you can reserve your place in advance, and travel with a free mind.

"A stage not to be missed!"

Hiking, heritage, delicacies (I'm not telling you everything!), a warm welcome... Puylaurens is definitely worth a visit. I'll be leaving with many fond memories, and the desire to return very soon.
