How to read availability and pictograms on CAMPING-CAR PARK?

Understand the colors, pictograms and reservations at CAMPING-CAR PARK to help you prepare your motorhome stopovers.

‍

Managing your motorhome stopovers: understanding the display of available spaces

When you travel by motorhome, van or camper van, you appreciate being able to plan your stopovers with complete peace of mind. Thanks to the CAMPING-CAR PARK system, you'll always know how many spaces are still available in a particular area. But how do you read the numbers and the colors on the display? Here are the keys to understanding everything.

On each staging area sheet, the system shows you the remaining spaces in real time. For example, "13 / 30" means that there are 13 free spaces left out of a total of 30. This figure is synchronized live between the mobile app, the website and the on-site machines. No unpleasant surprises on arrival!

‍

But why do we sometimes see free spaces on the site when the app says it's full?

These spaces are blocked in the system at the time of booking and counted as occupied, even if the vehicle has not yet arrived. This prevents overbooking, which is reassuring, especially during the high season. This is where the Pack'Privilège. With this service, motorhome owners can book up to 6 months in advance, with the guarantee of a space, even if they arrive late.

‍

Can I arrive before the time I booked?

When you book, you choose a precise arrival time, managed to the minute. This ensures a smooth flow of visitors to the site. You can always cancel or modify your reservation up to 48 hours before the start of your stay (if you have the Privilege Pack)

After this period, the times indicated at the time of booking must be respected.

  • If you arrive before the scheduled time and the site still has spaces available, you can gain access to the site for an additional charge, in accordance with our GTC (depending on the sites that allow it).
  • However, if the area is fully booked, you will have to wait until the start of your reservation to enter.

Color code

Finally, a simple color code makes it easy to quickly assess the situation:

  • 🟢 Green: many places available, you can arrive with peace of mind.
  • đźź  Orange: the area starts to fill up.
  • đź”´ Red: complete.

This clear and reliable display system is just one of the advantages of the CAMPING-CAR PARK network, designed to facilitate independent travel, thanks in particular to the Digital Pass which provides 24-hour access to all the network's parking areas.

CAMPING-CAR PARK pictograms: services & regulations to know

When traveling by motorhome, it's a good idea to read the pictograms. These little symbols, which can be seen on campsite signs or on site, instantly inform you of the services available and the rules to be observed. Here's a clear guide to deciphering them.

Service pictograms

Recycling

This pictogram indicates the presence of waste sorting bins. Practical for travelers concerned about limiting their environmental impact.

Video surveillance

The area is under surveillance for added peace and quiet. Ideal for a good night's sleep.

Waste water disposal

This symbol indicates that the site is equipped with a drainage point for grey and black water. A must for motorhome travel!

WiFi

Free or included WiFi connection: you can check your e-mail, plan your route or make a video call without worry.

A water hydrant is available for filling the tank or washing up. Check accessibility according to season.

The area has electrical terminals for recharging your appliances or powering your vehicle. Generally 6 A or 10 A.

‍

Barbecue-related pictograms

‍

‍

‍

‍

‍

  • Gas barbecues only: only gas-powered barbecues are authorized. This limits the risk of fire.
  • Electric barbecues only: some sites allow electric barbecues only.
  • Fire and barbecue bans: in certain areas, all fires and barbecues are strictly prohibited (risk zones, local regulations, etc.).

Regulatory and access pictograms

‍

‍

‍

‍

  • Dogs on a leash: pets are welcome, provided they are kept on a leash at all times. A good point for dog owners, but also for the peace and quiet of other travelers.
  • Double-axle ban: vehicles with double axles are not allowed, often for reasons of size or weight.
  • Maximum length 9 meters: beyond this length, access to the area is not guaranteed.
  • Trailers prohibited: trailers, including car trailers, may not be towed onto the site.
  • Camping prohibited: Bivouacs with deployed accessories (tents, awnings, etc.) are forbidden. You may park, but not camp.

These pictograms are there to keep you informed quickly, to ensure everyone's comfort and to guarantee safety at the rest areas. Before you arrive, take a few seconds to consult the information sheet for each site, and set off with a clear head!
