I didn't really know what to expect when I arrived in the Vienne, and even less so in Cieux, this little village in the heart of the Monts de Blond. But when I saw the sign "Village en Poésie" (Village in Poetry), my curiosity was piqued. So I stopped at the natural area CAMPING DE MON VILLAGE, a peaceful and well-thought-out stopover for motorhomes. Once I'd settled in, I set off to discover this unique place where poetry is part of everyday life. The commune has even received an award for its commitment: a poetic trail runs through the village with poems displayed on lecterns, each telling a fragment of the village's soul.
I let myself be carried away by this unusual walk, passing the town hall, the Sainte-Marguerite institute, the old station, the war memorial... and of course, the pond, peaceful and inviting you to relax. Walkers will also be delighted with the megalith circuit or the beech path - a real breath of fresh air through unspoilt nature. In July and August, the festival committee livens up the village with convivial events that add to the magic of the place.
What I remember most about Cieux is the gentle, almost timeless atmosphere, where the shopkeepers have the accent of the region and the kindness of poets. A simple but authentic stopover, which I warmly recommend to all motorhomers in search of peace and quiet and beautiful discoveries. Between the charm of the CAMPING-CAR PARK area and the hidden treasures of the village, I'm sure of one thing: I'll be back.
